Money

It was a hot sunny day …… I was standing near Palam Railway crossing ….. Waiting for a friend. We have some fruit sellers before the crossing; since I had nothing to do I listened to their conversation…

A to B; I took my family for dinner in ABC dhaba the food was good specially the dal.
It costed Rs 110 for family dinner. You should try it too.

B to A; I will also plan it next month. I have heard it’s a good place.

I listened to it and ignored. Came back to my Hostel  …… Our normal routine was to sit in the cafeteria in front of the hostel, in evening, for tea. Since I was sipping my tea and friends were chatting ….. I was distracted…..I heard two Pilots speaking to each other …..

A to B; Last time when my dad visited me, I took him to leela palace and its continental
Food is good. Dad liked it….

B to A; He will definitely look forward to it.More over; he said he was looking for such kind of place…

I heard it and ignored and thought people talk about food a lot….
As it was 8 pm we (My Hostel Friends) started planning to go out…. to PVR Priya to hang out and TP….

My friend asked me to light a cigarette, since I had none I went to buy it , so I asked for cigarettes to the shopkeeper, he was attending many people ,so he sd give me 2 mins…. Next to me there were two men standing ....Their age must be in late 40s ….Wearing nice suits …expensive shoes and a key ring of Mercedes ….. And they were talking …..
A to B: I planned it twice but It was canceled due to some or the other reason….but but
This time we went for our SOTC world trip…. It was an experience to be felt….
B to A; Ya… My was wife was discussing this trip of yours…. As she was insisting
           ….. I am planning it this year……

I took my cigarettes and I was surprised… I recalled all of them together….. All these people have same pattern of spending ….What differentiates them is their purchasing power?

It was nothing just common sense. We all know about this. I was laughing because I knew what I want?

Sales HIDEOUTS

First story

Rajiv left the office at 11:30 am on his bike to meet his customers (officially) but he went to his regular Hideout Park ….. His reporting manager was passing by …..stopped his car and started noticing him … Rajiv sat under the shed of a tree….To make himself  more comfortable , he  kept his bag below his head and stretched his body further on the ground….Manager came out of his car and went inside the park and  called him …
Boss   :   Where are you?
Rajiv  :  Sir sitting with a client.
Boss   :  What you see in front of your self?
Rajiv  :  Sir forgive me I will not do it again.
Rest of the story is understood……

Second Story

A guy started going for customer’s appointments early from office…. his immediate boss thought he has become more sincere after marriage….but his sales numbers started de growing….One day in the afternoon, his boss went to his house to check and saw his car parked outside his house ….. Boss started shouting his name in front of his house and also sd I know you are there ….
The guy came in the balcony wearing a lungi ….sd Sir I am Sorry……
Rest of the story is understood……

Most of the people in sales have to leave the office by a certain time (in my case it’s before 12 pm) and come back at certain time (report to office in evening). In sales, every day you cannot have a call …… There are days when appointments get canceled … Client is out of town….Client is busy in a meeting….Client is sick or a family member is not well… Client starts ignoring before making payments…..and so on….

I don’t understand why the management understands these logical reasons …. Where will you go and what will you do…… Now this gives birth to places called Hideouts…..

In my opinion, sales people who do not stay with their families they mostly prefer going to their houses …… People who do stay with their families they prefer to hang outside(Malls ,movies ,playing pool, parking car some where and relaxing and so on) …….Ours is a mixed group…..  But at the same time the Hideout has to be a place, which no one can figure it out and even if you are caught you can back it up…..

Sales Target

I have chosen sales because,,,,I cant sit in the office for hole day. I feel sleepy while doing so.
One day I went to meet one of my relatives. They Invited me for dinner.
We engaged ourselves in small talk she asked about my job I sd I am in sales.
She sd she can never work in sales because it has targets. I was flabbergasted!!!!!!  I told her that every Job has its own target.
I mean HR for their recruitment...
Operations for their data entry and analysis .....
Finance for  their budgets control.......
Marketing for their successful promotions and campaigns....
BPO people for their 9 hrs of log in....

She herself worked for one of the renowned  Finance MNCs.
I told her she must have some defined KRA s (Key Responsibility Areas) on the basis of which
the company does appraisal for her(that is her target). The only difference in sales is the targets are
controlled by the customers.
She agreed and sd sales is not her cup of tea.

I believe sales is for hard and smart working people. We have Quarterly targets ......

But every month end has gives you hell lot of pressure if you are far from your targets.Even if
you are not able to the survival business you are out of the organisation.

The top brass in sales work for incentives,,,the middle ones for survival...and the bottom ones I don't know
what they work for...

My month end days involve lots call from boss asking same question How much?????
and and pushing customers to make payments. If targets achieved then its ok otherwise giving excuses and
making promises to cover it up next month.
